I first came to Werner’s Community Garden a few years ago to scout out a potential place to keep beehives, and was really delighted to see how much community interaction there is. Not only is the food grown there given back to the community, but it is grown by locals who cherish the opportunity to dig, to grow, to enjoy the bounties of each season. The people in the homes and apartments flanking the garden often shout encouraging greetings from their yards and balconies.
Werner’s Community Garden is such an amazing resource, I can’t imagine what the block would be without it.
